The importance of advertiseing and trailers.
The importance of advertiseing and trailers.
Jack the giant slayer was predicted to only gain real success inside America and Europe it did however reach number 1 in Russia and the Ukrain... Here is why.

The advertising budget of this film was huge! All across the world there were mysterious giant footprints, bus stops consumed by shoots and leaves and billboards supported by giant beanstalks. Warner Brothers used the full power of their advertising department to ensure that this film would reach people all the way out in Mexico, Russia and Canada allowing it to almost treble the amount of box office takings made by Identity Theft in the same opening weekend.

Warner Bros.
In my post about audience reasearch I compared my film to films like Inception and The Matrix. When I was doing my reasearch on production companies I discovered that Warner Brothers produced both of these films. I had recently been to Warner Brothers (Time Warner) for some extra work experiance so when I discovered this I was keen to phone and ask about weather my kind of film would in theory be something that Warner Brothers would produce. I spoke to my freind Mark who works in international release data, for instance when China banned American films he was involved in making sure that I am Legend could be shown there. I therefore thought he would be perfect to tell me weather my film was something Warner Brothers would produce on a local or international level. he said that
"Warner Brothers obviously don't take much intrest in shorts anymore but if you made it into a feature length film then I don't see why they wouldn't produce it, a psychological mystery is definately well within our ethos and I can imagine if you came back in a few years time with a strong pitch it could go down pretty well"
I thought this was really amazing because after all my time working at Warner Bros, I managed to see films like inception inside of the directors cinema and now I'm really looking forward to getting my film made and finalised.
Also when I was looking the logos of Time Warner and Eagle Eye I noticed some similarities forinstance, both logos are made of a few very simple shapes and both logos have the focus of the image in the middle. I think this is to makesure that the audience can assess the style of the logo and recognise who it represents very quickly.

Analysis second day of filming.
Unfortunately I was not able to be present on the second day of filming because I had to attend a History mock exam. However Charlie and Nathan mangaged to get some really good work done. The scene that they shot was of Morgan after the global apocalypse inside of Leo's mind. The shots that they took look very good and they also had the idea instead of Nathan (Morgan) acctually speaking he should voice over the shot to create a feeling of deeper and more emotional thought.

Analysis of the Third day of filming.
The third day of filming both Charlie and Nathan were unable to make it which made it particularly difficult because I was acctually in the scene but I managed to film the cafe scene really easily and then set the camera to record as a walked in. I will however have to edit out the part where I walk back and turn the camera off but overall I think that the day went rather well.

Analysis of first day of filming.
The first day has gone well. despite some minor location issues and technical difficulties, the cast and crew has come together nicely to help get through it. Firstly the office we had originally planning on using was locked because the person in charge had forgotten to leave it open. However we moved location to one of the offices on school grounds and created a very convincing opening sequence.
